Sri Lanka Peoples Party is grappling to present their Presidential Candidate Gotabaya Rajapaksa’s manifesto as the party has no policy at all, Power Energy Minister Ravi Karunanayake claimed.
He noted that Gotabaya Rajapaksa addressing a recent media conference stated that it is essential at this present juncture to move the country forward forgetting the past misdeeds of Rajapksa regime.
He wants us to remember the past but not all the past, only the approved bits. When journalists questioned about the other past activities tainted with corruption and brutality , he behaved in grumpy and evasive manner.
He told media “Ask the future,” I’m trying to become the president of the future Sri Lanka. If you concentrate on the future, I think it is better.
Minister Karunanayake noted that a person like Gotabaya who has forgotten about his beginnings and what has happened during the Rajapaksa regime cannot create a better future for the country.
He assured that the nest UNF regime will create stable situation in the country enabling the people to live in peace and harmony without repeating the short comings of the present government.
He made these observations when he participated in house to house election campaign in Colombo North Electorate recently.
