Energy Minister should step down over fuel price hike: SLPP

Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) said the Energy Minister should take the responsibility over the fuel price hike and step down from his post.

SLPP General Secretary Sagara Kariyawasam said in a statement that they have a reasonable doubt if such decisions are made on purpose to discredit the SLPP and its leaders.

He said the Government had to face this critical situation as the subject Minister failed to take correct decisions at the right time.

He said the SLPP was of the opinion that people, who were badly hit by the Covid pandemic, should not be further burdened by increasing fuel prices and this situation should be changed. (Daily Mirror)
