Peace and coexistence in the country more important than ministerial posts - Bathiudeen

Meanwhile, former Minister Rishad Bathiudeen had said that it was more important to ensure peace, security and coexistence within the country at this juncture rather than worry about ministerial posts, adding that he was committed towards ensuring that there is peace and harmony in the country.

“Because we wanted to ensure that the country is peaceful that all of us resigned from our posts. This country is more important to us than our positions. Even though the country is still under emergency law, some parties are acting beyond their limits and engaging in sabotage. What we believe is that the law should be equal to all.

All those who were connected to these terror activities in any manner should be sought out and punished. But, harassment of the innocent people should be stopped. There are some who are engaging in sabotaging the country’s peace and harmony and they are still continuing with their activities. But, no one in this country talks about them or even investigates them,” he further added.
