The United National Party (UNP) will launch a multi-pronged awareness campaign aimed at educating the public on the dangers of the proposed 20th amendment.
The multi-pronged campaign will see the UNP mobilize the youth front, artists, women’s groups and professionals to support the effort. The campaign will be led by Deputy Leader Ruwan Wijewardena, the UNP Central Bureau said in a press release.
The campaign will also see the United Bhikshu Front carry out a simultaneous awareness program on the Government misleading the public on key matters of the State. The program will also highlight alleged deforestation by Government-backed individuals, the UNP said.
Several UNP trade unions including those in the public sector and plantation sector will also be mobilized for the campaign, the UNP added.
