Cabinet yesterday approved a proposal by Finance Minister Mangala Samaraweera to revise the the Sri Lanka- US cooperation agreement on the ‘Programme of Sustainable and Inclusive Economic Growth’ to include ‘modern energy services’.
It also approved to extend the completion date of the above programme and the ‘Democratic Governance and Social Integration Programme’ signed with the US till the end of 2022. The two cooperation agreements were signed in 2011.
The funds of the ‘Programme of Sustainable and Inclusive Economic Growth’ have been increased from USD 35.95 million to USD 47.81 million and the funds of ‘Democratic Governance and Social Integration Programme’ have been increased from USD 33.86 million to USD 44.52 million.
