Two Lankans test positive for COVID-19 in UAE

Foreign Media quoting the Ministry of Health and Prevention in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) yesterday said that two Sri Lankans were among 15 new cases of COVID-19, found in the country. With the new cases the UAE has reported 74 COVID – 19 patients in total, out of which 17 have recovered.

The new cases according to foreign media include three Italians, two Emiratis, two Brits, two Indians, one from Germany, one from South Africa, one from Tanzania, one from Iran in addition to the two Sri Lankans.

When inquired a Health Ministry spokesman said, he too had come to know about the condition of the two Sri Lankans through media. He said the Health Ministry will closely follow any new developments related to Lankans either home or abroad and with regards to the cases in UAE will coordinate with relevant authorities to ensure they receive all the necessary medical attention in the UAE.
