Former Minister M.H.A. Haleem had told a weekend newspaper that once the Prime Minister returns to the country next week, they would discuss with him and take over their previous ministries by next week.
He said that this decision was taken based on a request made by the Chief Prelates and the majority of the public and also because the situation in the country had returned to normalcy.
The former Minister said that the other Muslim ministers, including himself had resigned in order to facilitate the ongoing investigations without any hindrance. However, he said their resignation was never intended to safeguard anyone.
