Leader of the Tamil National Alliance R Sampanthan says the party hopes to hold discussions with Indian Leaders over the implementation of the 13th Amendment.
MP Sampanthan said although President Gotabaya Rajapaksa claimed the steps would be taken to resolve the North East issue through factors contained within the 13th Amendment; the TNA is yet to be granted the opportunity to engage in discussions on the matter.
NewsRadio Correspondent said the TNA Leader made these remarks during a meeting with regional politician of the Tamil National Alliance.
MP Sampanthan had claimed that authorities in the new government are seemingly unenthusiastic to even discuss issues faced by the Tamil community, adding the Tamil people must not be allowed to endure such difficulties.
The TNA Leader had stressed that in order to intervene on behalf of the Tamil community more effectively; the TNA must strengthen the party in the upcoming general election.
