Gota’s relief package to be unveiled on 25th

The Sri Lanka Podu Jana Peramuna presidential candidate Gotabhaya Rajapaksa is scheduled to launch his election manifesto containing a special economic relief package on October 25th.

It is said that his economic plans are broadly discussed in his manifesto.

According to a senior member of the SLPP this document contains a concessionary tax package for the public, reduction of the existing taxes, reduction of various charges on the working class and special emphasis would be placed on the less fortunate, farmers and fisher community concessions.

This manifesto also contains many proposals with the aim of resolving many of the financial laws and regulations which is choking the business community.

He also noted that Gota’s manifesto would contain proposals for the stoppage of unnecessary imports, solutions for the ill effects of the dual taxation process etc.

He also said that several proposals pertaining to rural development, arts and culture and media are also included in Gotabhaya’s election manifesto.
