The UNP Deputy Leader SjithPremadasa has reiterated that he is ready to be the presidential candidate.He said this during a special mediabriefing held at Finance Minister Mangala Samaraweera’s official residence at20 B, Stanmore Crescent this morning. He stated that he had given thisin writing.
Premadasa made the same statement yesterday. Premadasa said that if anothercandidate is to be nominated, the party’s democratic process should beexercised.
The media briefing was held foraround an hour, but was concluded as Premadasa said he had to attend theCabinet meeting.
