Politicians need to be rehabilitated: Ven. Gnanasara Threa

To bring about co-existence between communities, politicians need to be rehabilitated, 'One Country, One Law' Presidential Task Force Head Ven. Galagoda Atte Gnanasara Thera said.

While meeting the Chief Incumbent of the Getambe Rajopavanarama Viharaya, Ven. Keppitiyagoda Siriwimala Nayaka Thera on Saturday (25), Ven. Gnanasara said politicians are creating events for their own survival or such events that occur would be used for their own political purposes.

The Presidential Task Force commenced consultations with the people of the Central Province yesterday.

Ven. Keppitiyagoda Siriwimala Thera said, fulfilling the responsibility of establishing "One country, One law" concept should be forged ahead without backing down in the face of obstacles.

Ven. Gnanasara and other members of the Task Force visited the Getambe Rajopavanarama Temple in Kandy in view of seeking views and opinions of various parties to accept proposals for the formulation of a conceptual framework unique to Sri Lanka.

"The problems that have cursed the country for many years should not be allowed to be passed on to future generations, and it is very timely for the President to take the tasks ahead, Ven. Keppitiyagoda Siriwimala Nayaka Thera said. (Daily Mirror)
