The Central Committee of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) has decided that the 14 members of the party should be prepared to resign at any moment they are urged to.
The decision was taken during the SLFP CC meeting chaired by former President Maithripala Sirisena.
It is also reported that in addition to the 14 members of the SLFP, about 60 MPs from several other government affiliated parties have also expressed their willingness to quit the government.
