Claiming that there was no scientific basis in the allocation of Cabinet of Ministers, Parliamentarian Ven. Athuraliye Rathana Thera said yesterday what was needed not a Cabinet reshuffle, but to allocate Ministries on a scientific basis immediately.
The prelate told parliament that the Ministers are not in a position to take decisions as some institutions have been gazetted under State Ministries.
"Our Cabinet is not at all scientific. We need to allocate Ministries on a scientific method rather than a routine reshuffling," he said.
Ven. Rathana said it was vital to appoint a board comprising of experts to take decisions to curb the Covid pandemic and pointed out that assistance of the army or the security forces should be sought to implement those decisions.
The parliamentarian said representation of Ayurvedic practitioners and indigenous medical practitioners in the Covid Task Force was minimal and pointed out the need to seek their participation even more.(Daily Mirror)
