Former Speaker Karu Jayasuriya has stated that he will not contest any upcoming election.
He has said this during a special discussion held by the National Movement for a Just Society, at the Janaki Hotel in Colombo.
Activists of the movement, social activists and political party representatives including those from the Samagi Jana Balawegaya and the United National Party participated in the discussion.
It was also proposed to raise public awareness on certain wrong decisions being taken by the government.
The former Speaker has emphasized that they are inviting all political parties and civil society organizations to join this cause.
