The opposition yesterday requested the Speaker to allow parliamentarian Rishad Bathiudeen, who was arrested recently, to attend parliamentary sittings.
Chief Opposition Whip Lakshman Kiriella said MP Bathiudeen had a right to do so.
Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardane said MP Bathiudeen should first make a request in that regard.
MP Kiriella said Mr. Bathiudeen had already made a request asking him to be permitedv to attend parliamentary sittings. (DailyMirror)
