Wanni District MP Rishad Bathiudeen is to be arrested on the orders of the Attorney General, Acting Inspector General of Police (IGP) C D Wickramaratne has informed Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena.
According to parliamentary sources, the Speaker has responded to the notification by requesting the Acting IGP to submit to him an official report containing all the information relevant to the arrest of the Member of Parliament.
