Sri Lanka launches first ever Graphene applied Battery Technology

Ceylon Graphene Technologies launched first ever Graphene applied Lead Acid Battery Technology together with Associated Battery Manufacturers (Cey) Ltd, leader in the industry of battery manufacturing in the region.

This was discloed by Manju Gunawardane, CEO Ceylon Graphene Technologies ata media conference in Colombo Today Thursday 05.

Mixed composites of Reduced Graphene Oxide and Expanded Graphite mixed in an optimized ratio have delivered promising results of enhanced charge acceptance of lead acid batteries while reducing sulfation in negative plates.

This technology is ready to be applied in the mass production and soon to be available in the market by 2020 under the Lead Acid Battery range of Exide.

The result optimisation using graphene and its derivatives expected to be further modified and extensive research is in progress.

American Graphene Summit organized by the National Graphene Association of United States of America was held on 21st & 22nd of May 2019 at Washington.

It was a Graphene Leaders event that assembled current and future Graphene stakeholders, leaders, U.S. industry and government agencies to explore the potential of Graphene in different industrial segments and product markets.

Ceylon Graphene Technologies signed an Agreement with National Graphene Association to explore the opportunities of establishing a subsidiary company in the United States.

Meanwhile Manju Gunawardane , CEO Ceylon Graphene Technologies has been appointed to the Advisory Board of National Graphene Association USA.

The board consists leaders and experts from commercial and industrial segments, advanced material and technology companies and corporations, national labs, government agencies, investment firms, standard bodies and academic & research institution
