The Election Commission has allowed postal voting applications till March 19.
The Election Commission said that although the time given for postal voting applications was to end at midnight yesterday (17), taking into consideration the government declared special holidays on March 17,18 and 19, applications received during the next few days will be regarded as those received prior to the deadline (March 17).
Election Commission Chairman Mahinda Deshapriya said that based on the decisions taken by the government to prevent the spread of the Covid-19, the deadline for accepting postal voting applications will be announced later.
