During the discussion between visiting Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe yesterday, the main focus was on enhancing and strengthening economic ties between the two countries.
The informal discussion was held while Prime Minister Wickremesinghe was escorting the Indian leader from the airport to Colombo. The progress of bilateral ties between the two countries and plans for the future were also discussed as well as global terrorism and measures needed to be taken specifically address terrorism affecting the two countries.
The discussion between the two Prime Ministers was held while travelling in the car to take maximum advantage of the limited time available during the Indian Premier’s short visit, government sources said.
