Roads close for Modi’s visit tomorrow

The police have released a statement with details of the roads that will be closed on 9 June during Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Sri Lanka.

The roads that will be closed from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Sunday (9)

Katunayake-Colombo Highway,Peliyagoda flyover,Orugodawatte junction,Dematagoda junction, from Borella junction up to Baseline road, from D.S. Senanayake junction in Borella up to Horton place,Nelum Pokuna junction,Ananda Kumaraswami Mawatha,Library junction,Dharmapala Mawatha up to Pittala junction,Sir James Peiris Mawatha,Kumara Rathnam road,Chittampalam A Gardiner Mawatha,York Street,Sir Baron Jayathilaka Mawatha, Reclamation road, Lotus road, Bank of Ceylon Mawatha, Janadhipathi Mawatha and Galle road from Galle face roundabout to old parliament.

Roads that will be closed from 1.45 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Chittampalam A Gardiner Mawatha, York Street, Sir Baron Jayathilaka Mawatha, Sir James Peiris Mawatha, Kumara Rathnam road, Bank of Ceylon Mawatha, Janadhipathi Mawatha, Flower road and Thurstan road up to Thummulla.

Roads that will be closed from 2.30 p.m. to 3.30 p.m.

Dharmapala Mawatha, Nelum Pokuna junction, Ananda Kumaraswami Mawatha, Horton place, D.S. Senanayake junction in Borella, Dematagoda, Baseline road up to the highway through Orugodawatte and the Katunayake-Colombo Highway.
