Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe had visited the international book fair at the BMICH this morning (28).
He has a habit of visiting the book fair every year.
The Sri Lanka Book Publishers Association welcomed the Prime Minister to the book fair at the BMICH premises and Wickremesinghe visited many of the book stalls browsing through books.
Wickremesinghe interacted with authors, publishers and those who had visited the book fair and exchanged pleasantries and he did not fail to purchase several additions to his library.
The Prime Minister also visited the area allocated for poets and interacted with them. He also inquired from the modern poets regarding the obstacles and issues they face.
The poets had told the Prime Minister that there is a revival of poetry among the general public today.
The Prime Minister had also discussed with them about poetry being promoted through social media.
