Emergency regulations declared by the government to distribute essential goods to the people were approved in Parliament today with 132 MPs voting for it and 51 against.
A total number of 31 MPs were absent during the voting time.
Those MPs including Muslim MPs of ACMC and SLMC who voted in favour of 20th Amendment voted in favour of emergency regulations. MP Aravind Kumar also voted in favour.
Around 31 MPs including Wimal Weerawansa, Bandula Gunawardene, Harin Fernando and Ranil Wickremesinghe were among the notable absentees. (Daily Mirror)
