The Colombo Stamp Exhibition organised by the Postal Department *Philatelic* Bureau will be held at the Postal Department on D. R. Wijewardena Mawatha from tomorrow to Sunday (2-4 August) from 9.00am to 6.00pm.
Old stamps, notes, coins and other foreign stamps would be on sale, including stamp albums and stamps issued since 1857.
This exhibition is mainly aimed at encouraging children to take up stamp collection as a hobby.
The speciality of this exhibition would be that anyone could use a photograph of one’s family member and have a valid stamp created.
Accordingly, 20 personalised Rs. 15 stamps could be purchased at Rs. 1,500, Rs. 20 stamps at Rs. 200 and 20 numbers of Rs. 25 stamps would be sold at Rs. 2,500.
There is a huge demand for Sri Lankan stamps the world over due to the fact that they are drawn by hand.
