President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has ordered not to issue any gazette without his approval.
He has given this instruction to the Prime MInster and all other Ministers.
Minister Mahinda Amaraweera has told Lankadeepa newspaper that various Ministry issue gazettes and it has been realised that although the gazettes are issued, their objectives have not been fulfilled.
A gazette is aimed at achieving a specific objective, but some of the recent gazettes have failed to achieve that target.
Hence, the president has ordered not to issue any gazette without notifying the president himself and the Cabinet.
