Grade V cutoff marks won't be slashed ; O/L practicals to be held

Minister of Education Prof. GL Peiris says the cut off marks for school admissions based on the 2020 Grade 5 Scholarship Examination results will not be reduced artificially.

He said the cut off marks were increased due to the performance of students and not by influence by him or the Education Ministry.

Speaking in parliament today (11), Opposition Leader - Sajith Premadasa said the exam's cut off marks had been drastically increased, which led to many students who were seeking admission to popular schools, being left disappointed.
