The UNP is said to have decided to accord 50 state employment opportunities to all its party organisers, it is reported.
The electoral organisers of all 22 districts were notified of this decision to grant them this privilege at a meeting held last Wednesday.
There are 160 electorates in the 22 districts and if each electoral organiser is to receive 50 job opportunities each, the number of state sector jobs to be given to UNP organisers is around 8,000.
