The Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) and the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) have postponed talks scheduled for today.
SLFP General Secretary MP Dayasiri Jayasekara said that the talks scheduled to take place today has been postponed to June 26.
The SLFP and the SLPP have been meeting to reach a deal to work together at the next elections.
However both sides have not yet been able to agree on the Presidential candidate in the event they decide to form an alliance.
The SLFP has already requested President Maithripala Sirisena to be the Presidential candidate but the SLPP has refused to agree to Sirisena being nominated as the candidate of the alliance. (Colombo Gazette)
