New Democratic Front (NDF) Presidential candidate Sajith Premadasa will be addressing record number of 150 mass rallies countrywide at national level, Sirikotha UNP sources said.
He kick started his record breaking feat from his maiden mammoth rally from Gall Face green in Colombo with the record number of participants numbering over 245,000 on Thursday the 10 th.
The UNP led alliance of NDF will conclude their massive propaganda campaign of presidential candidate Sajith Premadasa at the grand final rally of the series of 150 national rallies at Maradana, Colombo in the Central Colombo electorate on November 13.
Former President the late R. Premadasa has established an unbroken record in Sri LANKA election history by addressing the highest number of 141 mass rallies during his presidential election campaign in 1989.
His son NDF presidential candidate Sajith Premadasa is now on his way to break his father’s record in 2019 by addressing in 150 mass rallies countrywide creating history this time surpassing all his predecessors, his campaign manager said.
According to available statistics, the late Ranasinghe Premadasa addressed in 141 mass rallies during his presidential election campaign in 1989, Ranil Wickremasinghe 110 rallies in 1999; Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka rallies 105 in 2010 and Maithripala Sirisena 100 rallies in 2015 in theor respective presidential election campaigns. .
