Herath charged that the the Sri Lanka Freedom Party had been transformed back into family-rule. “It’s no wonder that the combination of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) and the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) shows that the SLFP has come back to the family-centered political culture,” he said.
Parliamentarian Herath said that during the past 71 years, the SLFP and the UNP regimes have resulted in the collapse of the country’s economy leading the country towards a debt-trap.
“People have realized that the traditional political parties have no capacity to lead the country towards prosperity. So they have already moved towards an alternative,” Herath said.
