The Government will definitely lose its majority in Parliament, as over 50 MPs representing the ruling party are to function independently in Parliament today (05), Former State Minister Nimal Lanza said.
He told reporters yesterday that they were going to make a special statement in Parliament tomorrow where they would urge Government to withdraw from power and hand over it to someone from Opposition.
"It is apparent that Government is using various tactics to remain in power, which is not going work. We vehemently express our displeasure over it," he stressed.
"That's why we have decided to be independent in Parliament tomorrow so that majority of Government will be lost. When it loses its majority 113, the government will have to be dissolved," he added.
Commenting on protests being held in front of MPs' resistances, Lanza said people’s protests are purely reasonable and they had no objection against such protests. (Daily Mirror)
