SriLankan Airlines cancels flights to Kochi due to floods

SriLankan Airlines has suspended all flight operations to Kochi (also known as Cochin) in Kerala, India, today (09) until Sunday (11) as the airport was forced to shut down due to flooding.

A spokesperson for SriLankan Airlines told RepublicNext that Kochi Airport Authority had announced that all aircraft activities have been suspended at Kochi airport till 3pm on Sunday.

It was also noted that alternate flights would be offered to passengers hindered by the issue to travel to and from Kochi via Trivandrum and Coimbatore.

Warnings have been issued on several states in India due to the prevalent weather conditions by the Indian Meteorological Department.
