In the year 2018, registration of cars has increased 106.2%, according to the Central Bank's annual report of 2018.
Vehicle registrations declined by 13.3% in 2017, with 39,182 cars registered in the year.
The Central Bank has pointed out that in 2018 the figure had risen to 80,776.
Meanwhile, registration of dual-purpose vehicle has also increased by 1.1%.
In addition, all other vehicles registered in the year 2018 has decreased; goods transport vehicles by 18% , three-wheelers by 14.8% and vehicles for land purposes by 21.1% respectively.
Overall, though registering new vehicles declined by 8.4% in 2017, but it grew by 6.5% in 2018.
The Central Bank points out that the favorable tax structure proposed by the 2018 budget for small vehicle caused largely to the increase in new car registrations.
