Nalin Fernando, the Trade, Commerce and Food Security Minister said that a decision will be taken to bring down the selling prices of chicken and fish in the local market.
He said the prices of fish and chicken in the local market have gone up without any control, and, therefore, they need to be controlled as similar decisions had been be taken to control the price of eggs.
He mentioned that the Consumer Affairs Authority (CAA) has the data related to the prices of chicken and other meat varieties in the market and the cost of producing them.
The Minister also mentioned that immediate action will be taken to lower the prices of cement, steel rods. (Daily Mirror)
