Govt. will impose curfew in high risk areas: Army Commander

If there is a serious risk of COVID-19 in any part of the country, the government led by President Gotabaya Rajapaksa will inevitably impose curfew in such areas, Army Commander Shavendra Silva said.

He said any part of the country can be considered as a risk area for COVID-19 even if one infected person was found from those areas.

He said the curfew has already been imposed in the areas identified as high risk areas for coronavirus.

The Commander said that a total of 88 persons tested positive for Covid-19 yesterday and that 22 of them were reported from quarantine centres and 46 persons were close contacts of apparel workers.

He said most of the infected were residents of Minuwangoda, Gampaha and Katunayake areas.

Only two of them were residents of Colombo while patients were also reported from Wattala and Kandana areas.(Daily Mirror)
