Post offices to re-open as usual from May 04

All post offices across the island will be operating as usual for general services from May 04 onwards, Post Master General Ranjith Ariyaratne has announced.

Previously, Sri Lanka Post temporarily discontinued its services in the wake of the Covid-19 outbreak in the country.

Thereby, all payments including Public Assistance monthly allowances, Elderly allowances, Farmers’ Pensions, and Pensions will be paid through post offices as per usual.

Public will also be able to pay water bills, electricity bills, make local electronic currency transfers and hand over letters and parcels for local and international postage, from said date.

Postmaster General states that he expects the public who wish to obtain postal services would comply with the health safety regulations issued by the health sector.
