The Director General of the Health Ministry Dr. Anil Jasinghe has been summoned before the Presidential Commission of Inquiry (PCOI) investigating fraud and corruption within the government.
This is over the alleged fraud committed during the importing of antibiotics by the Health Ministry.
Meanwhile, the Director General of Customs Mrs. P.M.S. Charles or any responsible officer has been notified to appear before the presidential commission today.
They have been summoned to obtain the files pertaining to the illegal export of sand obtained from gold mines.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe has notified the Commission that he would not be able to report to the commission today as ordered due to his engagements in the Mannar district.
Accordingly, the PM has been summoned to appear before the commission at 9.30 am on September 16th.
