It is reported that "Selacine Television Institution" under Ministry of Mass Media is seeking an injunction against the "Enterprise Sri Lanka" exhibition organized by Ministry of Finance which is to be held at the Muttraveli Ground in Jaffna from 07 to 10 September.
Selacine is planning to take legal action for not awarding the construction contract of the exhibition.
Selacine has reportedly submit the lowest bid of Rs.71,143,000 for the construction and tender board officials of the Ministry has decided to award the tender to the second lowest bidder M/S Sri Mahal Pvt Ltd. The tender has not been awarded to Selacine as they have no experience or capability in conducting such a task.M/S Sri Mahal Pvt Ltd which has long experience in construction has been awarded the tender for a sum of Rs. 71,132,000 following negotiations.
Meanwhile, "The Leader" reports that in parallel to the judicial process Selacine has launched a mudslinging campaign against the Ministry of Finance and the Finance Minister by spending hundreds of millions of rupees.
The Leader further reports that the General Manager who has launched the mudslinging campaign, Manjula Herath, was sacked when Mangala Samaraweera was the Minister of Mass Media and Rajapaksas reinstated him during the October coup.
According to The Leader ,Chairman of Selacine, Prabath C Perera, has ordered several employees of the company to carry out the mudslinging campaign targeting the Minister of Finance, Mangala Samaraweera.
