Solicitor General Dilrukshi Dias Wickramasinghe who was scheduled to resign to contest the forthcoming Presidential Elections, had withdrawn her resignation.
She had notified her resignation to the AG last Monday (19) having more time for her retirement.
Officials confirmed that the Solicitor General had, in a letter, requested the AG to permit her resignation but had withdrawn the letter on August 21st before it was sent to the Public Service Commission (PSC).
The Solicitor General was very keen to contest the elections representing the Public Council, prior to retiring.
However, she had changed her mind and withdrawn her resignation to make way for former Chief Justice Shirani Bandaranayake to contest the presidential election.
