Deputy Leader of the United National Party (UNP), Minister Sajith Premadasa in a statement says the UNP must form an alliance only after announcing the Presidential Candidate.
He noted that he completely agrees with the formation of an alliance named the Democratic National Front led by the United National Party to contest the Presidential Election. He added that he and Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe came to an agreement that the Alliance should be formed as soon as possible.
However, Premadasa adds that he agrees with the majority of UNP MPs and a majority of powerful parties that plan to join the alliance, that the formation of the alliance must take place only after announcing the Presidential Candidate.
Sajith Premadasa says if it is done accordingly the proposed alliance can be formed and it would become an alliance which would secure a resounding victory.
