Disciplinary action has been taken against 11 Galle politicians members belonging to the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP), Parliamentarian Shan Wijayalal de Silva stated.
The politicians consist of two Hikkaduwa Urban Council members, two Karandeniya Pradeshiya Sabha members, two Welivitiya Pradeshiya Sabha members, two Imaduwa Pradeshiya Sabha members, one member of the Rathgama Pradeshiya Sabha, one member of the Niyagama Pradeshiya Sabha, and one other politician. An eight-member disciplinary committee has been appointed to look into the matter.
The two Imaduwa Pradeshiya Sabha members and the Niyagama Pradeshiya Sabha member have been given two additional weeks to participate in the disciplinary inquiry due to a delay in their summons.
