Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe has instructed all government ministers to complete all development programs by September or October, it is reported.
The Prime Minister has said that measures would be taken to provide additional funds once the allocated Rs. 200 billion is spent.
Under the Enterprise Sri Lanka he said all shortcomings would be rectified and has given instructions to continue with the programme.
It is reported that the Prime Minister has instructed all development programmes to be expedited during the next few months.

Meanwhile, issues have arisen within the government on whether the Batticaloa Campus established by former Eastern Province Governor A.L.M. Hizbullah, should be taken over by the government or not.
Some are of the view that this university should be taken over by the government, while others believe that it should be run as a private university under the purview of the Higher Education Ministry.
While Minister Ravi Karunanayake, Patali Champika and several others are of the view that the university should be taken over by the government, while Ministers Lakshman Kiriella and Dr. Rajitha Senaratne are of the view that it should be run as a private university.
