SLPP Mabola Wattala Urban Council leader of the Opposition Mohommed Naushad who had earlier functioned as the Mabola organiser of the National Thawheed Jamath Organisation and lad fled the country subsequent to the Easter Sunday bombings, was arrested early this morning by the CID.
Naushad is said to have been the political guru of Mohommed Rizwan who was arrested on May 15th over his direct contact with the ISIS. He is also an SLPP organiser and millionaire businessman.
Previously on April 24th Mohommed Rifaz had been arrested in possession of walkie talkies, NTJ logos and several other items. He is said to be a relative of Mohommed Naushad.
Naushad is also said to have been operating an NTJ mosque in the Mabola, Wattala area.
According to reliable sources, Naushad is said to have been receiving various goods from several countries including Saudi Arabia and also funds.
After his relative was arrested it had been revealed that Naushad had fled to Malaysia.
However, he had returned to the country and again left to India.
